The Brood is the elite version of the Hive.
It has the same attacks as the Hive but it does more damage and it spawns Pests and Hydras/Drakes and they summon more frequently than the Hive.
This is a troublesome boss due to it (and its standard variant) being the only boss to deal high, unavoidable damage to the player should their ship be in close range. It also possess a high amount of hit points.
